With less miles, this will not be as demanding as the 100 mile route, but we recommend that this is not your first ride of the season but rather you have logged some miles on your bicycle in preparation. This route takes you with the 100 mile cyclists, but bypasses the climb.

Route Description & Highlights:

Like the 100 Mile route, the 85 Mile route is designed to help cyclists discover how easy it is to get out to the mountains by bike with the Downtown Denver skyline in full view and relish in the proximity of city and country. It highlights some of Denver’s bicycle commuter routes and casual riding areas, but this route joyfully eliminates the challenge of the climb through Genesee Park as not everyone has the need to climb like a mountain goat. Here is a photo tour of a few things you may see on the route:

Official Wave Start & Cutoff Times:

6:00am – Wave 1 (Limited to 300 riders)
6:15am – Wave 2 (Limited to 300 riders)
6:30am – Wave 3 (Limited to 300 riders)

**All cyclists riding the 85 Mile Route must be through Aid Station #1 by 9:00am. After 9:00am there will be no Denver Police Department support.

4:00pm – The 85 mile course closes
