2010 Inaugural Denver Century Ride Reviews
“Hi Lauren! I just wanted to drop you a line to let you know how much I enjoyed the Denver Century ride yesterday. While I regularly ride the Copper Triangle, this was my first century ever and I rode it with a friend of mine who is an Ironman and veteran of the Triple Bypass (so, needless to say he has a lot of experience with organized group rides). The course was great and gave me enough elevation to challenge me throughout the entire ride. My friend remarked several times how impressed he was with not only the organization of the ride, but the aid stations, street markers, etc. He was very impressed by how well the course was marked.
We are both marathoners who do 4-6 marathons per year between the two of us and I can say without hesitation that your volunteers (whether they were manning the aid stations, on the street letting us know which way to go, or the policemen manning the course) were second to none. I have never enjoyed a group of volunteers more than I enjoyed everyone I encountered yesterday. In this type of event it is absolutely crucial to have the right people helping out and you have hit the mark. If there is any way to get the word out to your incredible volunteers, please thank them for me. They had the attitude I needed to make it through yesterday!
I know the hard work that goes into these types of events and I thank you and your staff for taking care of every detail so that the only thing us riders had to worry about was getting through the hills and the headwind!
Thank you so much for an outstanding event. I will be recommending it to my friends and look forward to doing it again next year!”
“Just wanted to say, Lauren, that was a great ride route. The climb was perfectly spaced after a warmup, all the aid stations were perfectly situated, the techs and snacks were perfect! The weather was awesome. It was a lovely, well planned out ride, and I look forward to the ride next year.”
“Just a quick note: the event was terrific! Well organized, staffed, plenty of signage, volunteers, refreshments, etc. We enjoyed the course (metric) and suspect this will become an annual event. Thank you and your team for a wonderful first year event.”
“You guys did a great job with the route, making it interesting with enough climbing to make it challenging. It was also nice to avoid the bike paths, which we all ride so often. I also thought the marshalls and the rest stops were fantastic. I would definitely do this ride again.”
“I am in awe of how well organized this ride was for a first time ride! My hat is off to you! The course was well marked, there were plenty of volunteers/course marshalls. The rest stops were at about the right places and well stocked. The finish line BBQ was wonderful (but would have loved to have a secure bike corral to leave my bike since I rode to the start and finish.) The t-shirts and jerseys were great too. I wore my jersey today for Bike to Work Day.”
“I would like to personally thank you and all of the other people who worked and planned the Denver Century. I had an awesome time. I can’t imagine the amount of planning it took to pull off such an event. The ride was great easy to follow the aid stations were terrific people were friendly and helpful. Thanks again for making my century ride a great one. I hope to be riding the Denver Century again next year.”
“Just wanted to say the century was GREAT! It was a gorgeous route and very well organized. The volunteers/staff were great.”
“The ride was great. Excellent course layout, aid stations were well spaced out and equipped. Really enjoyed it. All in all you and the staff are to be commended i will certainly recommend the ride to others and look forward to the next one.”
“By way of feedback, I was most impressed by the organization of the ride, the route, the large numbers of volunteers, the police/highway patrol/sheriff support, and the quality of the rest stops. Bring the ride back next year. It’s a welcome addition to rides in Denver.”
“Great ride, despite the heat. I especially enjoyed the long finish along the creek … cooler and flat, but also just a nice section of ride. All the hills in Highlands Ranch surprised me, I had no idea that area was so hilly, or maybe I was just too hot and tired already. LOL Overall, a well put together event.”
“For an inaugural event I was quite impressed with it’s organization and quality. With the exception of a few rough and/or wet spots on the century course I have no complaints. The volunteers at the aid stations were enthusiastic and very friendly, really makes a ride for me. I plan to be back next year.”
“Well I had a few anxious moments the morning of the Denver Century Ride as I also completed the Mt Evans Ascent (14.5 miles running up Mt Evans)the day before, however all went just fine. I did want to mention that I believe the amazing support the volunteer staff gave truly made the ride for myself. The volunteers were beyond supportive and courteous, and kept the riders safe on the course. To be honest I found no faults with the ride, however I was truly impressed with each and every volunteer on the course.”
“You and your crew did a wonderful job running this event. The route was beautiful. I rode through beautiful parts of the metro Denver area that I did not know existed. The road volunteers, aid stations. state troopers, and the post race lunch sponsors were great. Thanks again for sponsoring/organizing a great event. I look forward to riding next year. Kudos to you and the rest of the folks.”
“Thanks for a fabulous event. It was so well organized, well supported and well signed plus it was incredibly scenic. I am so impressed with how well it all went. Thanks, I really enjoyed it.”
